Why I Deleted You From My MySpace Friend List
Every single day, I receive messages from friends on MySpace asking why I deleted them from my friend list. Like this one I received this morning: "Hey Mr LLL! you deleted me! how insulting! meanie :( .... soo meeean... "
Blimey! First off, I don't delete anybody from my friend list. LLL has tens of thousands of friends, and there is no way I spend time singling anybody out, and go to the trouble of deleting them.
The only exception to the above is when someone leaves a psychotic comment, in which case they are blocked. This is very rare, though. It has happened maybe 10 times in the past year. But they are not deleted, they are blocked, which is different, as far as I know. And when I say "psychotic", I mean "psychotic". I don't block Clarice Starling; I do block Hannibal Lecter.
If Lonely London Lad should suddenly and unexplainably disappear from your list of friends, it is with 99.99% certainty the result of one thing: MySpace software bugs. I have tens of thousands of friends, and that means tens of thousands of database records that MySpace maintains. Database errors will inevitably occur on their servers, resulting in inexplicable friend disappearances.
Every day, because of these quirks in MySpace's databases, I lose friends and fans without my knowledge, and to my great dismay. I don't even know they are gone until someone writes and asks why I deleted them. I won't even start talking about MySpace Mail here, where messages are lost sometimes as soon as I send them (better to contact us here for important matters, btw).
So if it should happen to you, please just add the Lad back. Since my band has more than 5,000 friends, MySpace allows me to turn on a feature called "auto friend accept", so you won't even have to wait to be accepted, it happens instantly and automatically.
I hope that clarifies things... MySpace is a great place to make friends, as well as lose them through no fault of your own.
