Lonely London Lad: What's New: August 9, 2010
It has been about 6 weeks since I last posted one of these band updates, so it's high time, I say!
- For lack of a better phrase, I'm throwing a "Meet and Greet" (more of a 12-hour party, actually) on August 21st in a small town in West Virginia, of all places, where bluegrass is supreme, and LLL music may mystify. It's sort of like the Sex Pistols' first show in America being in a Texas cowboy bar. Some brave LLL fans are driving across several states to be there; some may even fly in. It's free, and YOU are cordially invited.
- Like wildebeest stampeding across the Savannah, MySpace users seem to be leaving the service in droves for Facebook. This is a sad turn of events for me, personally, since many of my fans I have hand-picked on MySpace, and that's just not possible on Facebook. Though I dislike calls to "add me on Facebook", I nonetheless submit
our Facebook page for your consideration. (And by the way, don't take offense at my referring to you as a "wildebeest"; I would be far more inclined to liken you to a sleek and graceful cheetah, but alas cheetah don't stampede, and thus my analogy would have been flawed).
- The latest Lonely London Lad t-shirt, based on our "Buffalo Jump" song, is shipping as of today! The design is made up of concentric circles. It's the closest you may ever get to owning a Chuck Close masterpiece.
- We have 15 tracks completed toward the 3rd LLL album, which will probably be another double-CD. I will be playing all 15 tracks at the above-mentioned Meet And Greet as part of the festivities.
- Speaking of music -- which is what I am here for, despite needing to sell other things to keep the band going -- I have temporarily lowered the price of our second CD, "Foaming At The Mouth", to just $9.95, which includes Free shipping to any country in the world. US customers will receive it within 3 days of ordering. There are some great songs on this CD, too -- "John Wayne", "Strange Child", "Men", "Black On Blue", "Drunken Douglas", "Chain Gang" -- so you won't feel ripped off when you get it. It's truly a great value. Available exclusively in our Shop, of course!
- The same design that appears on the new "Buffalo Jump" t-shirt is also available as a massive wall graphic (you don't need a frame for it, it adheres to any painted surface!), that measures 6 feet 3 inches tall by 4 feet 10 inches wide! It's also available in our shop, but it's a "bit" more expensive than a small poster, due to its size... but it does come with free shipping :-)
Cheers!
Robert
